coralcom – Snooker is definately a game that requires the patience of a saint, mainly because a game can last for a VERY long time and also requires complete science throughout. Snooker is a cue sport and is played on a big table measuring 12ft by 6ft. Now this is a sport that is again contested by two competitors and the aim is to pot the balls on the table in a specific order and get more points than your opponent.

The balls are made up of 10 red balls, a yellow ball, a green ball, a brown ball, a blue ball, a pink ball and black ball and the players uses a white ball (Cue ball) to strike the other balls. The order I have written them in is the order that the balls need to be potted in. The balls are also worth a certain amount if points, red being 1, yellow (2), green(3), brown(4), blue(5), pink (6) and black (7).
The highest amount you can score in a frame of snooker is a 147, this is very difficult and isn’t very common in the sport. Snooker is another sport that is mainly played by the British and was apparently found by British army members in India. There are other sports that are similar to snooker, similar in the fact that they are played on a table, with balls and hit by a white ball using a cue, the main ones being billiards, English pool and American Nine Ball Pool.

Geoff Ogilvy has carried his red hot Australian form with him overseas and taken out the first tour event of the year, the Mercedes-Benz Championship in Hawaii, by six strokes.
Ogilvy who one the Australia Open at Huntingdale in December of last year, has consolidated his position as the highest ranked Australian golfer on the U.S. Pro Tour.

Ogilvy shot a flawless third round of sixty five to set up a six shot lead head into the final round and never looked like stumbling on his way to claiming the 1.4 Million dollar first prize.
The event is only open to players who had won a tour event on the 2008 calender so needless to say it was one of the strongest (albeit smallest) fields of the year.
The only other Australia to play in the tournament was Adam Scott who finished well back in a tie for eighteenth position.
The win represents a dream start for the Melbournian who is looking to be the first Australian to dominate the world golf scene since Greg Norman did it back in the late eighties and early nineties.
After the near flawless third round, Ogilvy got off to a very nervous start, bogeying the first and second holes, only to birdie the following two, then drop another two on consecutive holes.
He put the win beyond doubt with a slick eagle on the ninth followed by four consecutive birdies from the twelfth hole to the fifteenth hole.

Hawthorn is tipped to be the most supported club in 2009, knocking of a record long held by Collingwood as the most staunchly supported club in the Australian Football League.
BET NOW
Club President Jeff Kennet yesterday claimed that memberships for 2009 are already up over 30,000 (well up ob last year’s figures at this time) with the Christmas and pre season periods tipped to push memberships somewhere in the vicinity.
The Hawks have also been installed by bookmakers as favourites for the 2009 premiership flag, equal with Geelong who despite a shock loss in the 2008 Grand Final, are set to bounce back.
Just two year’s ago, Hawthorn made the bold move up publicly announcing a plan known as fifty2fifty in hich they vowed to record two premierships as well as reach fifty thousand members in a five year bid to become the most financially successful club in the Australian Football League.
The figure are set to exceed fifty thousand just two years into the plan and a second premiership is certainly not out of the question.
In stark contrast, North Melbourne – who had a fairly healthy membership pledge of thirteen thousand this time last year – to record and overall figure of thirty four thousand, have just eight thousand members at the present time.
Jeff Kennet praised all at the Hawthorn football club including players, coaching staff and administration for one of the most successful seasons ever recorder by a single club.
There is a definitely a buzz about the brown and golds as members, fans and staff alike are already talking of a dynasty – much the same as the Brisbane Lions in the early 2000’s.ac

coralcom – Last year when Martin Johnson took over the job of coaching England’s Rugby Union side all the fans me included were anticipating major things from the English team after his promise of a more fluent and attacking style of Rugby which as of yet I have to admit has not been any better to what we witnessed under the old regime.

On Saturday England were dismantled by an Australian side that itself has not been performing well of late, from the kick off you sort of felt that there was only one team in this game with the Australian pack all over the English from the off and by full time were unlucky to only win by 14 points in the England 14 Australia 28 score line. Matt Giteau’s was the chief tormentor for his side, with both great passing and immaculate kicking display he punished England from start to finish as Australia gained a little revenge for their World Cup quarter-final defeat in France last year.
The English Rugby League boys have not fared any better in their World Cup quest down under either, after a blood bath of an opening match against Papua New Guinea in which they only just come through as victors the English Rugby League team took an absolute battering off the best team in the world by a mile in Australia then suffered back to back defeats against the New Zealand All Blacks once in the round robin fixtures then again in the Semi Final to leave all English Rugby fans a bit down hearted before the Six nations tournament begins.
