Coral Sports – With the controversy that has now crept into Formula 1 regarding Brawn’s controversial diffuser part to their car and McLarens constant threat to pull out of formula 1 if this liargate scandal goes against them in a couple of weeks I suddenly have come to the conclusion that is this really the sport we used to enjoy and love or is it now just bad televison programme that is just going to get worse and worse.

After Jenson Button yet again destroyed the field in his Brawn car at the Bahrain Grand prix which traditionally was the track where the McLaren car always won at I now wonder if it is now worth betting on as this Brawn car does not seem to have a problem with reliability and therefore will easily win both the drivers and constructors championships as all of its rivals are now saying they have spent their budgets unabling them to improve the car enough to be able to really push Brawn and Button in particular this season.
Lewis Hamilton did finish 4th to give him 5 points and a little lift after his bad start to the season and f course that liargate scandal which still has to rare its ugly head once again in court.
Ferrari also picked up its first points of the season at the fourth time of asking with Raikkonen grabbing 6th place to gain 3 points but was a full 40 seconds behind the winner Button.
So as a Sport which I used to enjoy watching I have now come to the conclusion to sto[ watching the rest of this season and wait until next season when it might become a championship that a few drivers can win again.

As we have just seen the draw for this year’s ¼ finals I think it would be ideal to talk about this.Every year in European football is a competition contested by teams who are knows as Europe’s elite in a cup called The UEFA Champions League, and it is seen as one of the biggest and best football competitions not only across Europe but also the world.

The competition which has changed his format several times over the years, now appears to be the competition that governing body UEFA always wanted it to be.
Different countries have a different amount of people able to qualify, England being one of the biggest with four potential entries every season, the two teams who finish in first and second in the English Premiership automatically compete in the Champions League the following season, the teams who finish in third and fourth both have to go through some relatively easy qualifying stages.
The competition begins every season with the previously mentioned qualifying stages, then when the 32 teams have qualified they are split into eight groups of four teams and are labelled groups A-H, all the teams in each individual group play each other twice, home and away and then the top two teams in each group go through to what most people regard as the interesting section of the competition, the knock-out stages.
This is where the sixteen teams are drawn against another and they play each other twice to try and earn a place in toe the quarter finals.

The reason this is seen as the interesting bit is because the majority of the ties see the big hitters from the different countries play each other.

With all the rumours circulating the English press lately about all of Europe’s top teams all joining together to make a European Super League I thought it would be ideal to write about the current best league in the world, The Premier League.

The old format of the English divisions were simply called Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 and Division 4. Whether the FA wanted to just change things or wanted to market it differently to appeal to more people I don’t know but for the 1992/1993 season would be the first season the top flight in English football would be known as The Premier League (The Premiership as it’s also known).
The Premiership has continued to grow and grow across the world with its millions of followers and in the 17 seasons it has been going for we have seen only four different winners, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal and Chelsea, Manchester United being the most successful of the four winning the title no less than ten times, and look on course to win it again this season.
Before the season starts the FA randomly do a fixture list to run from the start of the season in August, through to the end of the season in May, every team then plays each other twice throughout the season, once at home, and once away, the obviously the team with the most points at the end wins the league. Three teams from the 20 competing in the league will then also be relegated into the Coca Cola Championship.
